A lovely way to ease into your practice and shake off the day. ?There are lots of benefits of using the wall for Yin practice. ?It can make your practice more restorative. ?The semi supine aspect of many of the poses whereby you elevate the legs can give you a?relaxation response, lowering?anxiety and stress. ?Elevating the legs also?reduces excess fluid?build up, helps circulation and returns blood back to the heart.
?
You can of course mix it up, do poses against the wall or not. ?As always?listen to your body and mind and you’ll feel what they need…
Poses to expect: Legs of the Wall, Dragon, Butterfly, Wall Squat, Wall Eye/Pigeon, Wall Sphinx, Reclining Twist…
?
?
Equipment you’ll need:?Wall, mat, bolster/cushions,?block, blanket… optional candles, your chill out music, PJs & teddy 🙂
This strong yet calming Yin can be practiced anytime, but works well at night to aid a good night's sleep. ?You will experience a good whole body stretch getting into the deep fascial tissues with poses such as Bananasana, Deer, 1/2 Butterfly, Twisted Roots and Straddle. ?Expect to soften, lengthen and relax!!
